Around 2006 – 2008 a number of letters appeared in the Cumnock Chronicle by a gentleman who would sign off as the ‘Auld Yin’. These letters and the information they contained were read with great interest as they told stories from New Cumnock in different times by a man in his 90’s who displayed wit and humour.
