Many thanks to Jeanne Bell for re-submitting the story of her Great Grandfather Whitefield Watson. He was very much a New Cumnock man and his poems, which I will add, reflect this. Jeanne has visited New Cumnock on at least two occasions and is planning a third from her home in New Zealand.
