My dad was John MGhee known as (Jock) born at Boig Road, He married my
mum Violet from Kendal Cumbria, they had 3 children, Alex, John and me,
Elizabeth.
My dad had the Piggery , down the ” Burn “, the Mansfield Road. In their
married life they lived at the Bank in rooms, then Pathead, then the
Castle, where I was born, and finally at the Coupla, a new house 🙂
Burnton Place.

Dad died in 1959, aged 45 as a result of an unfortunate accident.

Alex ( the oldest brother ) now lives in Australia, New South Wales,
John lives in Glyneath, South Wales and I moved to Kendal with my mum in
1963. Sadly mum passed away, she was aged 84 and it was in 1999. 36
years after leaving she still referred to New Cumnock as home.

Over the years, we have all tried to get back to New Cumnock ( Home ) as
often as we can.
